History

All For A Vision as a side project of Julien and DeCocinis, both of whom were involved in other creative efforts, during their junior year at Hong Kong International School. Originally planning to make drum and bass and psytrance music in the style of Pendulum (Band) or Infected Mushroom, the two decided instead to go in a more rock-oriented direction. Hadley, a friend and schoolmate of Julien and DeCocinis, was added as a band member over the summer of 2011 at which time the trio wrote and recorded a number of tracks that were to comprise 'Reasons & Devices'.

In September of the same year, All For A Vision released a music video for their debut digital single "New Age Anthem", featuring Sanjay Leese, a local drummer, as their temporary percussionist. Permanent drummer Daniel Lau joined the group several weeks later, playing a few shows with the band before the release of the EP.

Musical style

The band's sound has been described as a retooling of the electronicore sound characteristic of groups such as Asking Alexandria, Blood Stain Child and Enter Shikari, owing to their heavy use of synthesizers and incorporation of the stylistic elements of drum and bass, trance and dubstep. All For A Vision has also been compared to emo groups in the vein of Taking Back Sunday and Just Surrender, reflected in the use of dual vocals and occasional screaming, and to synthpop outfits Matt & Kim and Lights.
